Madea's "Ärztliche Leichenschau" befasst sich intensiv mit den Grundlagen der Leichenschau (LS) rechtlich wie auch praktisch gesehen. Dabei wird die Leichenschau gründlichst aufgearbeitetzunächst stellt der Autor die Ursprünge der LS dar; Kapitel 2 befasst sich ausschliesslich mit den Rechtsgrundlagen und legt vor allem besonderen Wert auf die Angabe von Todes-Art und -Zeit. Verschiedene "exotische" Gesetze werden ebenfalls abgehandelt (z.B. Epidemiegesetz, Kriegsrecht usw.). Weiterhin existieren Kapitel über die Person des Leichenschauers (wer darf und vor allem wann?) sowie auftretende Probleme. Weiterhin findet die Obduktionsentscheidung Beachtung. Das Buch schliesst mit einer Bildersammlung, die quasi Fallbeispiele darstellen. Insgesamt liest sich das Buch sehr gut, es wäre allerdings zu wünschen gewesen, dass die farbigen, qualitativ guten Bilder mehr im Text integriert wären. Ansonsten sei dieses Werk jedem Arzt, der sich etwas intensiver mit dem Themenspektrum Leichenschau auseinandersetzen möchte, empfohlen!
