The book was published in English as "The Economics of Location" in 1954. August Lösch (1906-45) studied in Freiburg with Eucken and in Bonn with Schumpeter and Spiethoff. "Die räumliche Ordnung" is his most important work. It "dealt, in most general terms, with general equilibrium theory applied to space. Distance itself becomes the central phenomenon [.] Lösch presents a Walrasian model with distance built in as a system of coordinates of location. His most famous contribution, however, is the analysis of the structure of an economic landscape [.] His is probably the most original book published on economics in the German language between the two world wars. Most scholars would consider themselves lucky if they had added a few bricks to an existing wall. Seltene Erstausgabe: Ausgesondertes Bibliotheks-Exemplar des Rheinisch-Westfälischen Wirtschaftsarchivs zu Köln mit entsprechenden Kennzeichnungen und Etiketten am Rücken, dieser etwas lichtspurig. Halb-Leinen-Einband mit marmoriertem Bezugspapier altersgemäß gering lager- und gebrauchsspurig, Buchschnitt und Papier im Inneren leicht nachgedunkelt, insgesamt in einem sehr guten Zustand. August Lösch (* 15. Oktober 1906 in Öhringen; 30. Mai 1945 in Ratzeburg) war ein deutscher Nationalökonom. Lösch gilt als Begründer der Regionalwissenschaft. Er studierte Wirtschaftswissenschaft in Freiburg, Kiel und Bonn, wo er 1932 promoviert wurde. Aufgrund eines Rockefeller-Stipendiums verbrachte er in den Jahren 1934/35 und 1936/37 jeweils zwölf Monate in den USA. Danach arbeitete er in Heidenheim und Bonn an seinem Hauptwerk, dem hier vorliegenden Buch, "Die räumliche Ordnung der Wirtschaft", das 1940 erschien. Im selben Jahr wurde er als wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter an das Institut für Weltwirtschaft an der Universität Kiel berufen.
