Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book centers around the physiology of the eye and the discoveries made by the author through his experiments and observations. The author first examines the movement of the eye in the eye socket, disproving contemporary theories and presenting new findings about how the eye rotates. Then, the author presents an in-depth analysis of the point of rotation of the eye and the angle of vision. Finally, the author refutes the prevailing theory that the point of rotation of the eye and the point of intersection of the lines of vision are identical and proposes an alternative theory. This book provides a detailed and thought-provoking examination of the eye's mechanics and how they relate to vision. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.

Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book started as an analysis of the shortcomings of previous methods for measuring eyes. The author, a dedicated physician, recognized that eyes removed from their sockets were not reliable models for understanding how the eye functions in a living being. To that end, the author created a device to measure the eye without removing it, the Ophthalmometer. The Ophthalmometer provided new levels of accuracy and granularity for studying the eye and for diagnosing vision problems. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.

Wschr. ges. Heilk., 1844/12. - Berlin, bei August Hirschwald, 1844, 8°, pp.177-192, Rückenbroschur. Erstdruck!
