Smith Esq.The letter, undated, reads 'My dear Smith, I am so sorry to have missed you [.] I particularly wished to see you for old times sake & to shake your hand [.] I will call on my way back to the station & return to town by an early hour, Yours affectionately, R. P. Ashe'.In this work, Ashe documents his six-year missionary work in Eastern Equatorial Africa, particularly in the Buganda region near Lake Victoria.
