Add to basketMass Market Paperback. Condition: Poor. Second Paperback Edition. Second UK paperback edition. The novel was originally published in hard covers by Nicholson and Watson in 1945 who then issued a paperback film tie-in edition in 1947. The spine has some reading creasing, edge rubbing and chipping at the bottom. Three quite heavy…diagonal creases to the top corner of the front cover. Small crease to the bottom corner of the rear cover. The text block protrudes a little at the right side of the front cover. The book has been repaired with tape to the reverse of the front cover at the top corner, along the edge of the text block and along the edge of the first page before the text begins. The pages at the front are loosening a little and the first page of the text of the novel is missing - copies of pages 7 and 8 from another book have now been inserted however so the book can be read from the beginning. The pages are browned but otherwise clean and unmarked. Cover illustration by John Richards. First printing of the Corgi edition. Postage charge will be reduced by £1.50 when the order is processed. Richards, John (illustrator).

Contact seller5-star sellerdj. First UK Edition, no US equivalent. Basis for the 1948 British film noir, "Good-Time Girl," starring Diana Dors. Extremely scarce in jacket. "Bonnie and Clyde" somewhat in refers, wherein a young female wastrel (Diana Dors, naturally) runs over a policeman and ultimately winds up being part of a crime wave with two G.I.s who… are also on the run. Very Good or better in a bright, about Near Fine dust jacket. Backstrip faded, but titles quite clear, just a hint of foxing to page edges. Jacket exceptionally nice, with a touch of rubbing at the spine ends. A superior copy.
