An den Schauspieler Georg Winterberger in Berlin über seinen Wunsch, in Rossinis "Die Italienerin in Algier" auftreten zu dürfen und seine Gäste, das Ehepaar Wolf, zu begeistern: "Deine wenigen Zeilen erhielt ich, und sah mit Bewunderung daraus, daß mein Brief an Hochwohlgeboren Grafen v. Briehl [d. i. der Theaterintendant Carl von Brühl, 1772-1837] vielleicht gar nicht eingetroffen ist, indess ich mit Sehnsucht einer Antwort entgegen sehne [.] Ich ersuchte um Erhöhung des Honorar auf 15. Friedrichs d'or und um die Gefälligkeit die Italienerin singen zu können [.] Während Wolfs hier sind sang ich wohl öfters doch H. Wolf besuchte nicht alle Vorstellungen. Mad. Wolf hörte von mir Floretan in Fidelio [.] Die Italienerin wird noch während Ihres hierseyns gegeben werden, worauf sich beyde sehr freuen, und mich würde es sehr freuen, wenn ich ihnen darinn sehr entspreche [.] Lieber Freund die Carlsruher haben mich außerordentlich lieb bis ichs Theater nicht betrete bleibt alles kalt, aber mir gelang es noch immer Leben in sie zu bringen, und der Großherzog hat mich ungemein lieb [.]". - Mit "Wolfs" ist vermutlich das Berliner Schauspieler-Ehepaar Pius Alexander und Amalie Wolff gemeint, denen Haizinger attestiert, "herrliche Menschen" zu sein. - Beiliegend eine Zusammenfassung des Briefes von alter Sammlerhand in italienischer Sprache. - Mit kleinen Randläsuren.

    Condition: Sehr gut. Format (Bildbereich): 18 x 21 cm. Blatt: 50 x 41 cm. *Anton Haizinger (1796-1869), geboren in Niederösterreich. Gesangsausbildung bei Ludwig Schwarzböck und Joseph Mozatt und später bei Saliere. Er erhielt ab 1821 Anstellungen in wiener Theatern. Auf einem Gastspiel in Karlsruhe begeisterte den damaligen Intendanten des Großherzoglichen Hoftheaters Joseph von Auffenberg so sehr, dass dieser ihm ein lebenslanges Engagement am Karlsruher Hoftheater offerierte. Er wurde badischer Kammersänger und heiratete die die badische Schauspielerin Amalie Neumann. 1850 zog er sich von der Bühne zurück und übersiedelte nach Wien, wo seine Frau und Tochter engagiert waren.
