Reichenbach (1807-1880) war Lehrer in Leipzig-Gohlis und veröffentlichte zahlreiche einschlägige Werke. Beim vorliegenden dürfte es sich um eine Neubearbeitung der dreibändigen "Naturgeschichte für Gymnasien, Real-, Handels- und Gewerbeschulen, sowie für andere höhere Lehranstalten und zum Selbstunterrichte", Leipzig 1840, handeln. Die Bände jeweils mit alter, aber undatierter handschriftlicher Widmung von Schuldirektor Petermann, die sie als Prämie für die Lösung der Räthsel in Nr. 21 der Deutschen Jugendblätter ausweisen. Gelegentlich etwas stockfleckig und Band 2 mit schwachem, größerem Wasserrand auf den letzten 200 Seiten. Die Vorsatzpapiere jeweils erneuert und die Bindung dadurch etwas straff, insgesamt handelt es sich jedoch um ein noch gut erhaltenes Exemplar mit nur leichten Gebrauchsspuren und schönen, handkolorierten Tafeln.…
