Die aus EPN-Stämmen isolierten symbiotischen Bakterien wurden als Xenorhabdus stockiae (Steinernema siamkayai) und Photorhabdus luminescens (Heterorhabditis indica) identifiziert. Die gewonnenen Isolate wurden auf antibakterielle Aktivität gegen verschiedene pathogene Organismen untersucht. Die Ergebnisse zeigten eine vergleichsweise breite antimikrobielle Aktivität gegen E. coli, S. aureus, S. typhi und K. pneumonia. Im Vergleich zu X. stockiae zeigte P. luminescens eine gute antimikrobielle Aktivität in maximaler Konzentration gegen K. pneumonia und S. aureus. Die FT-IR-Analyse des Ethylacetat-Rohextrakts von Xenorhabdus zeigte die höchsten Spitzenwerte von 2373,33 und 544,93 und Photorhabdus zeigte das Vorhandensein von Spitzenwerten von 2128,00 bzw. 552,80, was auf die funktionelle Gruppe der P-H- und Isocyanid-Streckung hinweist. Die erzielten Ergebnisse zeigten die Möglichkeit, aus den symbiotischen Bakterien entomopathogener Nematoden weitere neuartige Verbindungen mit antimikrobiellem Potenzial zu gewinnen, die in der Formulierung von Bioinsektiziden verwendet werden können.
