Half-bound in dark blue morocco with blue linen over boards by Dougl…as and Foulis of Edinburgh, with spine lettered in gilt. Top edge gilt. Pale blue marbled endpapers. Scuff to tail of spine, light edgewear, and spot of rubbing to cloth over rear board, else near fine. Binding is firm and sound. Very occasional pencilled mark to pages. A handsome turn-of-the-century of Charles Lamb's beloved collection of essays, finely bound by Douglas and Foulis of Edinburgh and with interesting provenance.
