Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. A sound tight copy of the Large Paper edition of this work, this copy being No. 23 of the limited edition of 100 copies, signed by John Bellows. This is Volume III of the three-volume work, and deals specifically with works relating to the City of Bristol. It consists of 378 pages of text, plus frontispiece and three plates of illustrations; it is divided into five parts; General Literature, Guides, Periodicals, Acts of Parliament, and Chattertoniana, followed by a list of Bristol printers, and indices of authors and subjects. Contents are tight and clean; the untrimmed edges of pages show some slight darkening. In sound dark blue boards which show slight general handling and a little bumping, with a few small marks and some areas of light-coloured staining at the outer edges of the boards. Very slight foxing to endpapers, though not elsewhere. A neat ownership signature dated 1897 to top corner of front endpaper.

Red cross shadowed by black cross. Black author name all front. 16.8 x 12.3cm. 64 pages. b/w vignette engraving of the author's grave by A. Quinton on title page. Various other b/w engravings by a number of artists. Condition: Spine sunned. Wear on top/bottom spine + corners. Few minor marks on back. e/ps ghosting. Free o/p owner name in pencil top right corner. The odd small minor mark, otherwise clean, little wear, binding good, good colour.
