Designed and reprinted by Jean and John Michael at the Acorn Press. Originally printed and sold at the Printing Office in New London in 1767. A rather matter-of-fact first-hand account of Isaac Hollister's captivity by Native Americans beginning in 1763. Surprisingly devoid of details about the people who captured him or the circumstances surrounding the situation. Half title page with a woodcut of the captivity. Headers and footers throughout. Section titles printed in red. Title page printed in red and black. Cover printed with brown and silver on the red paper wrappers.

Number 59 of 200 copies. Fine print fromBritish calligrapher and artist, Sheila Waters (1929-2022), whom Hermann Zapf dubbed "The Queen of Calligraphy." This was printed by the husband and wife team of John and Jean Michael at their Acorn Press which was founded in Oak Park, IL in 1954, and later relocated to Washington, D.C. Broadside, 15x10.5" calligraphy by Sheila Waters, and signed by her in pencil below the lettering. Hand made Hosho paper. Fine condition.
