Taschenbuch. Condition: Neu. Neuware - Random Lamentations, Protest Chants, and Affirmations: Selected Works from a Blackfemale Muslim Muslimfemale Black (1976-2016) is an offering of poems that speak to the unique and complex experiences of a Black Muslim woman living in inner city America over the last 40 years. The lives of Muslim women who live in urban America are rarely documented in literature. Their experiences are assumed to be similar to their Middle Eastern, Asian, and African sisters, even though the legacy of slavery and social injustice in America informs their daily lives. This book will, hopefully, allow readers to see black Muslim women, in particular, and Muslim women, in general, through a clearer window. About the Author C. Islaah Abd'al-Rahim is a Baltimore-born and raised, Muslim woman writer, educator, and public speaker. Over the past four decades, she has experienced life in inner city America through the triple lens of being black, being female, and being a hijaab-wearing Muslim in society that encourages women to demonstrate their freedom through dress. 'Sister Islaah' has served her community by teaching Islaamic Studies, by working on philanthropic projects, and by contributing to educational programs on the elementary to graduate school levels. Currently, she provides free or low-cost educational support to parents, home-schoolers, non-profits, or small private schools. Her commitment to social change, and her desire to chronicle the experiences of blacks and Muslims living in inner city America is reflected in her writings. This is her first published book of poems. She is also the author of The Book of Islaamic Lists (Ruya Press).…

Taschenbuch. Condition: Neu. Neuware - Alhamdullillaah. When the Prophet (Salallaahu Alayhi Salaam) sent his companions, Mu'adh ibn Jabal and Abu Musa (may Allaah be pleased with them both), to teach Islaam to the people of Yemen, he advised them, 'Facilitate [the religious matters to people] and do not make [things] difficult.' (Saheeh Bukhaaree & Muslim). With that idea in mind, The Book of Islaamic Lists is designed to facilitate learning via the compilation and organization of important lists related to Islaam, in-shaa'allaah. Lists can be important teaching tools. They are more succinct than paragraphs of prose, and are, therefore, easier to read. They can be read at random, and do not necessarily require extended reading time or sequential reading. Lists present main ideas in a logical order. Lists, in other words, can be very user-friendly. While the reading of full texts is both praiseworthy and highly encouraged, it is the author's hope that this humble book will not only enable more readers to have access to important concepts in Islaam, but also motivate them to read the seminal works, in-shaa'allaah. About the Author C. Islaah Abd'al-Rahim reverted to the religion of Al-Islaam in 1976. As an avid reader and a long-time student of the students of knowledge, she has compiled copious study notes on a variety of subjects in Islaam. As a career writer and educator, she recognizes the need to make the classical texts of Islaam more accessible to the people. This book represents her humble effort to share some of what she has learned and, in-shaa'allaah, inspire others to read the words of the scholars.…
