Escher, and two by the lesser known H. D. Voss, one consisting of four examples of his "Exlibris hout…gravures", the other of his "Egmond en Alva", the latter featured in our several listings for Goethe's "Egmond en Oranje", Vertaling van D.Th. Jaarsma; Houtgravures en typografisch door H.D. Voss";--- text in Dutch;---cream-coloured linen covers with gilt lettering and decoration on front cover still bright and clear (title only in gilt on spine much less bright), traces of foxing to front cover, much more so to spine which is also very age darkened, foxing and dust speckling to top edge, but overall very gently used, hardly a trace of shelf wear, previous owner's professionally designed (by owner, Dutch-Canadian silhouette artist and graphic designer Hans-Detlev Voss who still lived and worked in The Netherlands during the 1930s/1940s) bookplate inside front cover, his usual tiny ink numeral inside back cover, text and illustration pages very clean and unmarked, fresh and white.
