The book is particularly important for its treatment of dichromatic and polychromatic symmetry and for making work from the Russian school of color symmetry available to English-language readers. Translated from the 1972 Russian edition, itself developed from Shubnikov's earlier work on the laws of symmetry and their applications. Extensively illustrated. xxv, 420 pages.
