This book is the first of its kind world wide which depicts the sociological anthropological and cultural development of human civilisations based on horses. Many persons consider the dog to be the man's best friend. Though dogs may have befriended early human species as they sat around fires to ward off danger at night it has involved from the wolf while horses remained the purest species shaped by natural selection around the time it was tamed. Indeed humorist Charles Russell has aptly summed it up in his observation it was this animal that took us out of the caves. Few persons in today's busy world stop to ponder or understand the role that this magnificent animal has played in our own evolution as a species. From a once timid species scattered across a few tribal civilizations at the dawn of the prehistory horses helped to transform mankind to make them masters of the earth. This book goes back in time to vividly reconstruct the role horses played in expanding and defining the scope of battles and battlefield techniques. Its role in the creation of empires from a few disparate civilizations is also beautifully documented. Great men like the Biblical King Solomon the magnificent Pharaohs of Egypt to the ruthless leader Genghis Khan all led at the helm of their armies riding on horseback or astride horse driven chariots. This book also depicts the adaption of this primarily transport and battlefield animal to transport and pleasure purposes. This wonderful animal has been a beast of burden friend and ally all role into one. Wait this book is not finished yet there is a culture even today which still depends on horses for all their needs. And in the American continent Mustang horses represents the spirit of the American West than any other symbol. But these animals were not always like the magnificent beasts we see today they were small short legged rather uninspiring animals. Surprising isn't it. To find out more read this book. 110 pp. …
