Hardcover: H 24.5cm x L 15.75cm. Contemporary dark brown cloth rubbed; wear at board edges particularly at corners; spine ends chipped with subtle evidence of old glue repair to surface tearing at heel; spine's gilt lettering and grape vignette remain fairly bright. Front free endpaper and a flyleaf or two removed (title leaf immediately opposite front pastedown); ink doodles and pencil writing on fp and title; dedication leaf (i.e. pages iii-iv) trimmed to a center portion; bottom half of rear free endpaper removed with top half marred by old pencil writing; foxing and soiling to leaves with some creased/worn bottom fore-edge corners. Binding remains firm. Book now presented in a trimmed clear Dura-Lar (polyester film) sheet forming a dj which modestly enhances shelf presence.
