Mac-Mahon (1808-1893) war französischer Marschall im Deutsch-Französischen Krieg und schlug 1871 den Aufstand der Pariser Commune nieder, später zweiter Präsident der Dritten Republik. Der Photograph Le Jeune übernahm 1864 das Parise…r Studio des russischen Daguerreotypisten und Photopioniers Sergej L. Levitzky, als dieser nach seiner zweiten Pariser Zeit entgültig nach Russland zurückkehrte, verkaufte es aber bereits 1874 wieder.
La Simplicité (hier jedoch ohne Titel). Stahlstich nach dem Gemälde von Jean-Baptiste Greuze (1725-1805). Vortitel für das Album "Les Lianes. Album Mosaique" (Titeleindruck in Unter- und Oberrand), achtes und letztes der Albenreihe "La Mosaique" von Ernest de Limagne des Pariser Verlegers H. Mandeville (das Album enthält gestochene Stadtansichten und Kunstreproduktionen).

Wenige, vereinzelte und sehr schwache Stockfleckchen auf der Blattvorderseite, die unbedruckte Rückseite jedoch etwas deutlicher stockfleckig. Der später vielfach (vor allem auch in England) wieder aufgelegte Stich erschien hier wohl zum ersten Mal. Der französische Künstler war S…chüler von Henriquel-Dupont an der École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. Seit den frühen 1830er-Jahren lebte er in England und arbeitete dort für De La Rue & Co, ein heute noch existierendes nichtstaatliches Traditionsunternehmen zur Herstellung von (u.a.) Briefmarken und Banknoten. Dort gravierte er z.B. ein Bildnis von Königin Victoria, das auf frühen Briefmarken Großbritaniens und seiner Kolonien verwandt wurde. Chartiste, il publia dans sa jeunesse des ouvrages littéraires du Moyen Age et fut nommé en 1839 professeur de littérature étrangère à la Faculté de Montpellier.Il collectionna les décorations et les médailles, légion d'honneur et autres encouragements rémunérés. Orléaniste fervent, il vira républicain en 1848 et fut un partisan fanatique de Ledru-Rollin. Il présida alors le club de l'Egalité au salon de Mars. Le 2 décembre il fit acte d'adhésion complète au Coup d'Etat. En récompense de cette nouvelle conversion il reçut l'estampille gouvernementale et put se présenter en 1852 devant les électeurs des Hautes-Pyrénées. Il siégea à la Chambre jusqu'à la fin de l'Empire, applaudissant tous les ministères successifs.La révolution du 4 septembre 1870 l'a rendu à la vie privée. Ses relations dans le monde des artistes lui permirent de se constituer une impressionnante collection de tableaux, à fort bon marché ! Il fut l'auteur d'un très grand nombre de livres et le collaborateur de nombreuses revues : Le Voleur, le Revue rétrospective, le Messager, l'Artiste et même le Journal des demoiselles.Monselet l'a fort bien épinglé dans sa Lorgnette : « Frères, il faut mourir ! » se disent entre eux les Trappistes. Add to basketMeyerbeer's diary records (25 May 1853) a visit 'from Raoul Allary, who makes wind instruments. He is an opponent of Sax, and came to me because he had heard that I had spoken to the emperor on Sax's behalf' (1999 English translation of volume for 1850-1856). A pencil note at the head of the present letter identifies the subject… as 'Louise Gned / 4 Rue [de] Bellefond [Paris]'. Gned (b.1810) was an Austrian soprano from a musical/theatrical family, who faded into obscurity. (Her sister Nina (1811-1874) was also an opera singer, and was married to the baritone Zacharias von Poißl.) Meyerbeer writes that he has just heard that there is a 'place de Choriste vacante à Votre Châtre', and takes the liberty of recommending to Allary's attention 'la personne qui Vous remettra ces lignes'. He describes her as 'une excellente musicienne, ancienne prima donna qui a chanté sur les premiers théâtres d'Allemagne'. It is only by 'des revers de fortune' that she is at the moment reduced to applying for the 'modeste position de Choriste'. He can personally guarantee that she is an 'excellente musicienne et elle avoit aussi quand je l'ai entendue, une très belle voix'. Nelle sue tavole litografiche assecondò la moda dell`Orientalismo e il revival dell`architettura medievale. Tavola tratta da rara ed imponente opera di vedutistica italiana del XIX secolo. Esemplare in buono stato conservativo.

Seulement qq. grandes photos ont le carton avec des rousseurs (jamais sur le photo) ou le carton légèrement sal. Il y un (1) carton des petites photos qui a été partiellement déchiré avec également des photos déchiréés . Les cartons avec le cachet du collectionneur - architecte Anversois Frans Baeckelmans ( 1835 - 1896 ). Cet architect, frère de Louis Baeckelmans avait déjà avant 1870 formé une grande collection des photos architecturales. Les deux frères se laissent inspirer par la Renaissance pour leurs propres projets en style Neo-Renaissance/ Neo Baroque. (Un exemple: l'ancien Palais de la Justice d'Anvers, inspiré par le Louvre - Pavillon Richelieu - Pavillon Sully ). Il est exceptionelle de trouver une collection des photos de Baldus du Louvre ayant été formé dans le temps de sa genèse et ayant servi d'inspiration pour son premier acheteur - collectioneur. The 1808 Code d'Instruction Criminelle, a code of criminal procedure, was one of the four codes of civil and criminal law issued under Napoleon's direction after the Code Napoleon (Code Civil, 1804). The annotations, the latest dated 1827, range from a few words to several interpretive paragraphs. Most of these note modifications to the articles by imperial decrees or court decisions. The most extensive annotations, which fill three full interleaves in a tiny hand, concern juries.
