James Hartman is a retired businessman, dedicated community leader, and lifelong mentor with a deep passion for faith and service. At 73 years old, he resides in Portland, Maine where he has been happily married for 50 years, raising three children and cherishing time with his seven grandchildren.

A man of strong Christian faith, James serves as an Elder at Deering Center Community Church in Portland and is a Board Member of the Bible Society of Maine, the oldest Bible society in the Untied States. His commitment to service extends beyond the church, having played a significant role in Habitat for Humanity, both as a Construction Manager in Portland and as the State of Maine President.

In addition to his professional and faith-based contributions, James is also a beloved and highly accomplished coach. With 37 years of coaching experience, including 20 years as a high school head football coach, he has mentored thousands of young athletes across football, baseball, softball and youth basketball in the Portland area. His legacy in coaching is marked not only by success on the field but by his dedication to shaping young lives with discipline, integrity, and encouragement.
