Andréa D. Davis

Hi! I’m Andrea–it’s pronounced [On-dray-uh]–and I write historical fiction and biographies. The accent on my name is my preference, but optional.

My books blend my love of history, travel, and genealogical and archival research and sometimes delve into spiritual themes.

For 15 years I taught a wide range of writing courses to undergraduates and graduates at the university level. I still aim to educate, but most certainly while entertaining.

I have a PhD in Rhetoric & Writing and a Master’s degree in History & Archival Studies. History, word craft, and the stories found in archival records come together in my craft along with my interest in travel and culture. In all of my studies, I have endeavored to understand various cultures and how they are represented.
