Robert Heffner

Robert Brian Heffner is a poet, novelist, and artist living in Saint Augustine, Florida. Born in 1947, he grew with a love of adventure and literature and was inspired by authors such as Robert Louis Stevenson, Victor Hugo, and John Steinbeck. After graduating with a degree in English and Journalism from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, he moved to Florida and became a teacher of high school composition and literature. Retiring from the classroom after 30 years, he returned to his love of poetry and literature and began writing novels of his own creation. His most recent novel, "A Way Through the Shadows," tells the story of a remote Appalachian mountain clan swept up in the chaos as the shadows of the Civil War spread beyond the battlefields and into the highlands.
