Prof. Farshad Firouzi is a faculty member and technology entrepreneur with over a decade of experience at the intersection of academia, industry, and innovation. He has held research and academic positions at Duke University, Arizona State University (ASU), imec, and IBM. He has authored more than 100 publications, authored/edited three books, and served as Principal Investigator on multiple high-impact research projects funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF), the Semiconductor Research Corporation (SRC), and other funding agencies. His research interests span artificial intelligence, edge AI, Internet of Things (IoT), microelectronics, and smart and connected health. Dr. Firouzi’s work combines foundational research with translational impact, driving innovation across critical sectors including semiconductors, automotive systems, advanced manufacturing, and digital healthcare. He is recognized for his leadership in shaping emerging research communities. Dr. Firouzi serves on editorial boards such as the IEEE Internet of Things Journal, contributes to the technical program committees of premier conferences including DAC, ICCAD, and DATE, and is the co-founder of the IEEE COINS conference.
