Hon. George Rithm Martinez
Author. Hip-Hop Diplomat. Community Builder. Catalyst for Change.
Hon. George Rithm Martinez is a pioneering voice at the intersection of culture, politics, and purpose. A lifelong artist, activist, and public servant, George has seamlessly blended the rhythms of hip-hop with the rhythms of movement-building, both locally and globally.
He began his journey in the boroughs of New York as an underground MC and social entrepreneur, eventually becoming a U.S. Cultural Envoy, using hip-hop as a diplomatic bridge in more than 10 countries. George is a founding member of the Global Block Collective and the producer and artist behind the acclaimed album Occupation Freedom, which now serves as the unofficial soundtrack to his debut book Knocking With Purpose.
George’s public service journey led him to Alaska, where he currently serves on the Anchorage Assembly, shaping policies that center equity, creativity, and community well-being. A champion of youth empowerment, civic engagement, and economic resilience, George’s work blends grassroots organizing with strategic governance.
Knocking With Purpose: Breaking Generational Health Curses One Step, One Meal, One Door-Knock at a Time is his first independent book—part memoir, part movement guide. It chronicles his personal five-month transformation that led to the reversal of chronic health trends, the rediscovery of spiritual alignment, and the deepening of his purpose as a father, husband, and servant leader.
George lives in Anchorage and continues to inspire change through music, speaking engagements, mentorship, and the belief that wellness is a revolutionary act.
