Gregory M. Fahy

Dr. Fahy received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California at Irvine in 1972 and his Ph.D. in pharmacology from the Medical College of Georgia in 1977. He is a trailblazing cryobiologist who introduced, in the early 1980s, novel approaches to vitrification that enabled vitrification of large biological systems (including an entire kidney in 2002). The multi-authored "The Future of Aging" is his first edited book, but his fascination with biogerontology is life-long, and his chapter in "The Future of Aging" helps to flesh out his ideas about the origins, treatment, prevention, and reversal of aging that were first published in 1991. He is currently working to implement some of these ideas and to apply them to the field of transplantation while continuing to develop complementary cutting edge methods of cryopreservation. He has received over 30 patents on topics related to cryopreservation, metabolism, aging, and transplantation. Additional information can be found at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greg_Fahy.
