About Works on Paper
Works on Paper has been doing its part to aid and abet the construction of the Tower of Babel via ABE since 2003. We therefore deal in books, manuscripts, and ephemera in a variety of languages (though English-language offerings do predominate), from modest paperbacks to one-of-a-kind rarities. For us, Barthes phrase "the pleasure of the text" has many meanings, one of them being the old and meaningful sensation of the physical book held in human hands. Nevertheless, in our one concession to modernity and the internet age, and in order to keep our prices as competitive as possible, we do not have a brick-and-mortar location. In this way we strive to blend the best of the old with the new. As of the Ides of March 2022 we have decided no longer to accept PayPal payments, since in our view the vast majority of these payments are an attempt to skirt state taxes, a totally ignoble manoeuvre.
