About this Item

A very good copy of the presumed first hard cover edition (no explicit edition or printing statement) in a good+ (not price-clipped) dust-jacket, inscribed and signed by the author on the corner of the photograph page: "To my good friend Bill Wilson from Leo Durocher." Probable recipient was Bill Wilson who played for the Chicago White Sox and the Philadelphia/Kansas City Athletics. The text is wholly unmarked, pristine, and the green cloth binding with gilt lettering is bright and fresh in appearance. Section of the jacket at the top of the spine and adjacent areas of front and rear panels is missing, and there is some fraying and chipping at the tips. A sharp copy.
