Softcover / Paperback. Condition: Very Good. 2nd edition. Paperback. Reprint. SIGNED. The startling facts behind a century's headlines. Bigamist drowns wives in bath. Mrs Rattenbury takes own life after lover is found guilty. Bentley's 'Let him have it' - cry of surrender or order to kill? Collected together in this book are nerve-jangling accounts from a century of murder. Taken intact from the 'Telegraph's' superlative domestic crime pages, they range from the lurid, through the chilling, to the touching and sometimes tragic. Linking these fascinating contemporary extracts is commentary by the author, a crime expert. He looks at the background to the murders and the evolving ways of reporting them and introduces us to some of the influential figures - from judges to executioners - responsible for their trial and sometimes capital punishment.
