About this Item
Lower cover damp-marked, free endpapers partially embrowned, dustwrapper defective. Inscribed by the author to (Sir) Charles Reilly, "To C.H. Reilly with the Author's friendship Sacheverell Sitwell 15.x.1926". "It must have been early in September. I know this because my sister's birthday used to come at the end of the first week in that saddening month. For some years before we had celebrated this day in the same manner, but those were times when one week, even, was a huge arc from the wheel of time and I had but a faint memory and no precise knowledge of the summers before this. Time had halted by my side for a second, and I became suddenly drenched and wet for evermore in the waters of memory . . .". Seller Inventory # 11M100093
