His previous catalogue TRAGARA celebrated the work of Sims's friend Alan Anderson (1922-2016) and the Tragara Press, Edinburgh. Other catalogues have included TWO MAGPIES, letters and papers from the collections of Jonathan Gili, Christopher Lennox-Boyd and others; A SEAT AT THE TOURNAMENT, books and papers from the collections of Siegfried Sassoon, Margaret Drabble and others; EVERY PRINTED PAGE IS A SWINGING DOOR, books from the library of the poet David Gascoyne (1916-2001) and his wife, Judy; SPICILEGIUM SCOTICUM, a selection of (mainly) Scottish books from the libraries of Sir Herbert Grierson and others; and AHASUERUS THE BOOKSELLER, a biography-by-book-catalogue of Robin Waterfield (1914-2002), bookseller, publisher, writer and missionary. He also regularly issues e-catalogues, miscellaneous and specialized. James Fergusson is Editor of THE BOOK COLLECTOR, the quarterly for collectors, librarians and booksellers launched by Ian Fleming in 1952 and owned by him from 1955 until his death.
