Inscribed by the author to John Drinkwater, "Dear John, yours always affectionately & gratefully Humbert 19/vi/31"; with Drinkwater's JD ownership stamp and the later book-label of Simon Nowell-Smith. Occasional poems divided into three sections, "Calendar", "A Few Persons" and "The Immortal Hour". The following year John Drinkwater was the editor of the Royal Society of Literature's volume The Eighteen Sixties, to which Humbert Wolfe contributed.
