Item description from seller

SIGNED. 263pp. Quarto [28.5 cm] Pale green cloth with the title stamped in silver against a black background on the backstrip. The spine and boards show very minor edge wear. In the dust jacket, with numerous light scratches to the surface and gentle rubbing to the extremities. Publisher's prospectus tucked in. Laura Gilpin (1891-1979), born in Colorado, was a 1917 graduate of the Clarence H. White School of Photography. Her career of fifty years was varied and wide-ranging, and established her as one of the most outstanding photographers of our time. In The Enduring Navaho, Gilpin captures the spirit and the land of the people with photographs accompanied by text filled with personal reminiscences of the author's experiences among the people. Signed by Laura Gilpin on the half-title.
