Synopsis:
Carlo è un giovane laureando in Scienze biologiche che, lasciata la città, vive con il nonno Pietro in un piccolo paese dell’alta valle dell’Aterno, in Abruzzo. Durante un’uscita insieme alla ricerca di tartufi, Carlo scopre un casale abbandonato che mostra ancora i segni di un’antica sparatoria. Il ragazzo, il cui sogno fin da bambino è avviare un’attività di apicoltore, si innamora immediatamente del posto. Scoprirà così come la storia del casale abbia uno stretto legame con gli avvenimenti drammatici della gioventù di suo nonno, che ha partecipato attivamente alla guerra partigiana combattuta su quelle montagne dopo l’8 settembre del 1943. Ambientalismo contemporaneo e storia partigiana, due forme di resistenza unite da un fine comune: difendere la propria terra e la propria gente.
