Der 4. Akt gef�llt ihm ganz au�erordentlich. Das St�ck wird auch ganz anders aussehen, als es bis jetzt in [se]iner verst�mmelten Form ausgesehen hat [.]" (undat. Brief, vermutl. 1901). - Ernst Gettke (1841-1912) hatte von 1897-1907 die Leitung des Raimundtheaters in Wien inne; der S�nger und Schauspieler Willy Thaller (1854-1941) wurde nach einer abwechslungsreichen Laufbahn, die den geb�rtigen Grazer u. a. in zahlreiche amerikanische St�dte sowie nach Prag, Budapest und anderswohin f�hrte, 1924 Ensemblemitglied des Wiener Burgtheaters; die Volksschauspielerin Hansi Niese (1875-1934), war seit 1900 am Theater in der Josefstadt engagiert. - Der zweite Brief betrifft die Auff�hrung von Hawels Kom�die Die Politiker : "Betrachte es als meine Pflicht, Dich �ber den Stand der uns beide ber�hrenden Angelegenheiten in Kenntnis zu setzen. Die Politiker sind seit 14 Tagen ohne besonderen Schaden genommen zu haben, aus den Krallen der Censur entronnen. Die e[r]ste Auff�hrung erfolgt in der ersten J�nnerwoche und zwar aus R�cksicht f�r [!] den gro�en Erfolg der Liebesfreuden so sp�t [.]" (Br. v. 24.XI. 1903). - Der geb�rtige Wiener Rudolf Hawel, Tr�ger des Bauernfeld- (f�r Mutter Sorge ) und des Raimundpreises (f�r Die Politiker ) trat nach 1900 mit zahlreichen h�ufig und gern aufgef�hrten Volksst�cken an die �ffentlichkeit. We are happy to take buying orders for the important book auctions in Germany and Austria, which we attend regularly. We dedicate special attention to the estates and archives of important personalities of the arts and sciences in European and world history. Through specially prepared archive catalogues we have been able to sell the archives of Viktor L�on (librettist, 1859-1940), Leo Fall (operetta composer, 1873-1925), Lotte Lehmann (singer, 1888-1976), Otto Tressler (actor, 1871-1865) and Max Reinhardt (director, 1873-1743), as well as the last privately owned important original manuscripts by Ludwig Wittgenstein (philosopher, 1889-1951). Along the lines of this specialization our buying policy concentrates especially on these fields.
