Item description from seller

First edition. A very nice copy of this illustrated guide. Original green paper covers, with black text. There has been some reinforcement to the spine and there is a shelf label*, but otherwise with only slight darkening. There is a frontis engraving to the two towers of the Cathedral, which is still a major landmark today. Two further engravings and a folding map. The engravings are in very good condition. The text pages are somewhat foxed, but still legible. Overall a decent copy. 18cm x 11.5cm. 330 pages illustrations, folded map. Conforms to WorldCat / OCLC: 30929885. * label for the bibliothèque du fonds Bergevin to the top of the front cover. Taking its name from the two leading figures of the Bergevin family, Louis-Athanase Bergevin (1753-1832) and his son Louis-Catherine (1798-1876), were magistrates from Blois and major landowners in Saint-Gervais-la-Forêt. The collection was dispersed at auction in Véndome in 2022. .
