From the Publisher
The book begins just before the big bang and ends as the twentieth century draws to a close. Worldview was written without any recourse to visual material, relying solely on memory to chart history. The neutral and authorative style of Worldview admits no doubts, yet is fallible; the gaps, inaccuracies and the missing parts of history are as important to the work as the recollectons themselves. Light-hearted but rigorous in intent, Worldview will stimulate your knowledge of the history of the world. Emma Kay is a visual artist based in London. A large scale text work, Worldview was shown as part of the exhibition Abracadabra at the Tate Gallery, London in 1999. Worldview is published as part of Book Works New Wriing Series which includes publications by Deborah Levy, Steve Beard, Virgil Tracy, David Shrigley and Jeremy Millar.
