Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This evocative and lyrical book of poems by acclaimed author and critic Padraic Colum explores the rich Celtic heritage of Ireland and beyond. Grounded in the soil and steeped in a deep reverence for the natural world, Columās poetry encompasses themes of love, loss, the power of memory, and the strength of the human spirit. A traveler through time, the author takes readers from the ancient tales of Irish myth to the hard realities of rural life in the early 20th century. His poems sing of marginalized people, their resilience, and the beauty of the everyday, while also capturing the grandeur of the Western landscape and its profound effect on the lives of those who inhabit it. By turns poignant and mischievous, meditative and celebratory, this book is an enduring tribute to the enduring spirit of a people and the power of poetic expression. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format.
