About this Item
Wrappers. Spine broken (section to p.48 detached), backstrip rather worn, covers darkened and a little chipped, some foxing, particularly of the four plates. Loosely inserted a presentation autograph letter to the Thomas Bewick scholar Iain Bain ("My dear Iain") from Edward Croft-Murray ("Teddy"), 1p. 8vo, Richmond, 17 January 1976 ("I thought you might like to have it, as it contains some French examples of Bewick-style vignettes"). . ." Edward Croft-Murray (1907-1980) was Keeper of the Department of Prints and Drawings at the British Museum, 1954-73. Seller Inventory # 2S100034
