Henry Page Croft (1881-1947) was Conservative MP for Christchurch when war broke out; he served with the territorials (Hertfordshire Regiment) in France, 1914-16, commanding the 68th Infantry Brigade at the Battle of the Somme before resuming his seat in the House of Commons.
