Volume I (Complete for April 3 to June 26, 1913). Folio. 500pp. Maroon rexine with gilt spine lettering. Hinges splitting and fragile, just holding. Light shelf wear to the edges and minor creasing to some pages. The fragile fold-out engineering supplements remain intact with just slight wear and creasing. Built by Cammell Laird & Co., Ltd. S.S. SAN FRATERNO (April 24, 1913): Massive technical schematic detailing the complex cargo tank profiles and pumping arrangements for what was the world's largest oil tanker in 1913. Built by Swan, Hunter & Wigham Richardson, Ltd. on the Tyne. CURZON, ELGIN, & HARDINGE (May 1, 1913): Extensive machinery arrangement, twin-screw turbine layouts, and hull profiles for the specialized South Indian Railway Company ferry link between India and Ceylon (Sri Lanka). Built by A. & J. Inglis, Glasgow. S.S. Built by Reiherstieg (Hamburg). S.S. CROFTON HALL (May 15, 1913): Complete general arrangement, cargo holds, and rigging profiles for the New York & South America Line fleet. Built by William Hamilton & Co., Ltd. (Port-Glasgow). Includes adjacent companion midship framework cross-section text. M.V. ISLEFORD (May 22, 1913): Hull body lines, rigging profiles, and engine placements for this pioneering internal combustion motor vessel. Highly collectible crossover item, purchased by the British Admiralty for Royal Navy RFA service right before the outbreak of WWI. S.S.
