Olive green cloth hard cover with gilt titles and decorations on front cover and spine, with only minor cover wear mostly confined to spine ends, and at the lower spine an almost completely removed white 'sticker'. Quite clean interior with viii, 268 relatively browned pages with advertisements at rear. There is a book plate inside front cover - A gift of M Oppenheim (pioneer historian of English naval administration, 1853-1927) in 1919 to Bath Public Reference Library, but none of the usual lending library labels.
