Item description from seller

Folio. Green boards with gilt lettering. Tiny, faint smudge to top corner of front free endpaper, and to bottom edge of text block. 460 pp., including index. Protected in mylar. "By the mid 1890's Remington had made about 1,500,00 rifles. Of these about 12,000 were sporting rolling blocks and just over 10,000 were Hepburns. This works out to be one and a half percent that was for the civilian market and would indicate.the main reason for an apparent lack of interest, by Remington, in pursuing it. Truly the Remington Hepburn was the rarest of the major American single shots. In this book the various Hepburn models are shown in full color and discussed. Also included is an exensive look and evaluation of the Remington Schuetzen Rifle, known to today's collectors as the Remingrton Walker. Included are pictures of the two known, true Walker rifles. Sections pertaining to ammunition, the loading tools and appropriate sights are also included, in close detail." (Notes synthesized from flap notes and author's Preface).
