A beautifully preserved collection of three definitive twentieth-century British fly-fishing instructional manuals. Grouped together chronologically, this lot offers a comprehensive educational reference library covering river ecology, fly selection, stillwater presentation, and detailed pattern construction. The Fly-Fisher's Plants: Their Value in Trout Waters by D. Macer Wright (David & Charles, 1973 First Edition). ISBN: 0715361163. An essential, scientific survey tracking how aquatic flora dictates trout behavior and fly imitation. Illustrated throughout with detailed black-and-white plates. Complete with its original, unclipped pictorial dust jacket. Fly-Tying Illustrated for Nymphs and Lures by Freddie Rice (David & Charles, 1979 Second Impression). ISBN: 0715369520. A highly detailed, step-by-step pattern textbook for crafting subsurface lures. This specific title was issued by the publisher in high-gloss, color-printed pictorial hardback boards without a separate paper dust jacket. Fly Fishing on Still Water by Sidney Du Broff (The Moonraker Press, 1981 First Edition). ISBN: 0239001990. A classic text covering specialized angling approaches on lakes and reservoirs. Complete with its original, vibrant pictorial dust jacket. An exemplary lot in highly uniform Fine to Near Fine condition. All three volumes are structurally tight, square, and robust. The bindings are completely solid, and the text blocks are free of page leaning or structural issues. Internally exceptionally bright, white, and clean throughout. Free of the heavy foxing, water stains, or thumb marks that commonly damage field-use angling guides. Completely unmarked by any previous owner stamps or inscriptions. Store description
I have collected books most of my life. My collection has reduced now to about 4,000 items. I list a few more as time goes by! It is difficult sometimes to allow old friends to move on. Of course, they can find fresh enthusiasm from their new owners. No matter how many items you handle, there's always excitement and interest. It is vital however that my items are described accurately and I would hope to offer good value. If you see something that you feel is 'too high' for your pocket, don't hesitate to make me an offer. I try to keep the postage costs down, and within the United Kingdom this will be free. Posting abroad will be competitive, and often I will not ask for additional amounts if this is viable. But weight of items is the deciding factor. I will add images to my descriptions, and I hope that the combination will help you to decide. Regardless, always double check or take time to contact me for further information, or merely just to clarify a point. Ask for more images. If I can reduce anything I will do so. If you purchase more than one item, then offering a decent discount is likely. If items are not as described or you have a valid problem with any item, then I am happy to make a full or partial refund. This will be in line with all Statutory guidelines e.g returning the book in the condition it was delivered, and do let me know as quickly as possible. If damage has occurred then try to provide images. Ring me on 01352-810931…
