About this Item
Grey wrappers. Edition limited to 150 numbered copies, of which this is one of 45 specially bound (Steven Halliwell, however, the press's bibliographer, specifies "light brown" Canson & Montgolfier wrappers) and on a Saunders handmade paper. Memoir of "Sweet William" by Edward Thomas's widow, recalling her husband's involvement in the replacement of Davies's wooden leg: "he had a morbid dread of any of the villagers knowing about it. So under Davies's guidance Edward made a sketch of an appliance which he asked the village wheelwright to make, without of course telling him its purpose. He made it perfectly to Edward's design and when the bill came in it was for Curiosity Cricket Bat: 5s.0d. - the joke of which Davies enjoyed as much as we did.". Seller Inventory # 32M100144
