London: John Murray 1875. 1st Edition. 8vo (232x160mm), xii, [1], 387pp + vi, [1], 375pp, [32pp advertisement of titles published by John Murray]. Good. Modern rebinding in maroon cloth with a paper title stuck on the spine. Volume I - boards in pristine condition, pencil notes and pricing from a previous bookseller on the front free endpage. The textblock is square and tight and in good condition. Many page edges are uncut on the top and long edges but page edges are discoloured. Foxing and staining is present and significant throughout the textblock, stamps from a Dundee library are also scattered throughout the textblock. Volume II - boards also in pristine condition, pencil notes from a previous bookseller on the front free endpage. The textblock is square and tight and in good condition. Many page edges are uncut on the top and long edges but page edges are discoloured. Significant foxing on the front free endpage of the original textblock, and more concentrated at the beginning of the textblock. However, foxing is largely absent from the remainder of the text, with exception of the pages of advertisements at the rear of the block.…
