Original red/maroon cloth hard cover with gilt titles on spine and mildly bumped corners, and wear to spine ends with two very small tears in spine, and partly exposed internal spine hinge. Inside the front cover there is a book plate - The gift of M Oppenheim (1853-1927, pioneer historian of English naval administration) in 1919 to Bath Public Reference Library, but none of the usual lending library stamps. xciii, 387 pages and 12 folded tables.
