Take two well known children's authors, ask them to select their favourite stories about kings, then let Victor do the illustrations. This is the result, educational and entertaining. Collected and edited by Eleanor Farjeon and William Mayne. Illustrated by Victor Ambrus. Large format. Jacket has faults- namely edge/shelf wear, numerous small (approx. 1cm) tears, a little patchy loss (mainly to head/tail of spine and to corners), creasing/rubbing to edges, numerous marks, little pushing/rubbing to head/tail of spine, the odd spot of foxing, a little patchy browning (including to spine), few small marks/browning/minor foxing to reverse (white side), little pushing/bumping to corners, is a little grubby and is in only good condition. Boards are very good (having been well protected by the jacket) with minor pushing/bumping to corners, a little patchy fading and a little pushing/rubbing to head/tail of spine. Pages are generally clean and the binding is tight. Top of pages tanned with the odd small mark/mild foxing. Odd small mark/spot of foxing to page edges and bottoms. Crease to front end-paper.
