Stated first edition hardcover in near fine condition; clean boards, tight binding, clean pages, minimal shelfwear and edgewear.; text block clean, tight, untoned. Tight binding. Dust jacket glossy and vibrant, unclipped at $15.95, but there are several tears repaired with archival tape and has a wrinkled appearance. (see photos) Cry to Heaven is Anne Rice's lush historical novel set in 18th-century Italy, exploring the world of the castrati - male singers whose voices, artistry and suffering shaped an era. Published by Alfred A Knopf in 1982, this stated first edition marked Rice's return to richly textured historical storytelling after Interview with the Vampire and The Feast of All Saints. Copies in this condition with intact, if repaired, jackets remain collectible as early examples of her signature gothic-historical fusion.

Store description
My late wife and I spent a lot of time accumulating books, especially during COVID. With her gone, the books are a reminder of her. Hence, it's time for me to Turn the Page. Update: Please note I have recently moved to New Mexico (September 2026) where our chihuahua, Pedro, will no longer have to slog through snow and ice - the state where my beloved wife and his mommy lived before we met. Thank you for all your orders since opening this storefront!
