This facsimile edition was limited to 1,010 copies of which 1,000 were produced for sale. This elephant folio is a faithful reproduction of William Morris' Kelmscott Chaucer with the famous eighty-seven wood-engraved illustrations by Edward Burne-Jones. The paper has been specially made in Cumbria and the binding design has been redrawn by David Eccles. Text in red and black throughout, with numerous fine illustrations and borders in the text; Bound in cream Nigerian goatskin to a decorative gilt binding design from a copy bound by T. J. Cobden-Sanderson at the Doves Bindery in 1900, elaborately blocked with a design by William Morris. Gilded top edge, ribbon silk marker. Handmade laid endpapers from the Fabriani Mill, Italy. Measured by 12" x 17". Presented in a cloth clamshell box with leather title label to spine.
