Add to basketHardcover. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. The sole UK printing published by The Gadsby Gallery, Leicester in 1978. One of only 250 COPIES printed. The BOOK is in Very Good++ or better condition with a superficial damp stain to the front lower corner area which has not infiltrated the pastedown. Otherwise, the book…is in lovely condition and is free from inscriptions. The title-page is printed in black and red, illustrations throughout with a few line drawings printed in red. An Erni line drawing decoration in gilt to the upper board and the original acetate jacket is present. Hans Erni has penned a drawing of a female head to the half-title which he has signed and also inscribed and dated '3.10.78'. I am unable to decipher the complete inscription but it appears the inscribee was 'Peggy'. A scarce title and a comprehensive review by Graham of life and works of Hans Erni and his friendship with the artist. Only the second copy that we have handled with an original penned drawing by Hans Erni. Loosely inserted is 'Phoenix Broadsheet number 37 'Hans Erni' which has a printed sketch by Hans Erni of a similar female head. Collectible. More images available on request.
