Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Original publisher's green cloth binding with silver foil decoration on front cover. 4 3/4" x 6." 217 pages, complete. Seven additional pages of advertisements in the back for other books on similar subjects. Pages and covers are very clean and intact overall. Binding is tight. Pages slightly browned. Text on the spine and front cover are rubbed. Slight edge wear at the top and bottom of spine. Excerpt from the Introduction: "But too often these rules are merely memorized by the student for the purpose of recitation, and are not engrafted upon his everyday habit of speech. They are, therefore, forgotten, and the principles involved are subject to daily violation. Hence arises the need of books like Slips of Speech, in which the common faults of speakers and writers are pointed out, and the correct use of words shown."
