He expected to meet Titus (who had carried 1 Corinthians) at Troas. Titus?s delay caused him great anxiety (2 Cor. 2:12?13), so he moved on. He received Titus?s report in Macedonia; although largely encouraging, it showed remaining problems. Paul therefore wrote promptly to clear up issues before his own arrival.-Studylight.
